About me

In 2012 my husband, our three children and I moved from downtown Amsterdam to a lovely village in the South of France, where we still live with great pleasure. Before we moved here, we didn’t know the region very well. Since then, we have seen and done so much here. We have found many wonderful places. And still discovering new ones, there’s so much to do!

So the idea of this blog arose: to share our journey through the Languedoc region for anyone interested in this great part of France.

The name of this blog – La Ramoneta – comes from the Occitan language. One day my daughter and I were buying veggies at our local shop. My little girl likes to chatter away, so the shop lady called her “une Ramoneta”. Meaning: a curious little girl. Ever since this name was stuck in my head and when I was looking for a name for my blog, one and one became two.

When travelling for myself, I am always looking for the perfect picture. Luckily I am not a picky girl :). It doesn’t have to be fancy, or expensive. It has to be original, without too many tourists if possible. Good quality without being overly priced is a plus as well. Oh, and I do like good design.

La Ramoneta is doing exactly this for you: looking for hidden gems and places not to miss in the Languedoc region. Including the departments of Lozère, Gard, Hérault, Aude, and Pyrénées-Orientales.

Enjoy exploring!

Bisous,

Liesbeth
