On a beautiful spring day, Chéri and I decided to go out for lunch. So, we headed off to this marvellous place: Château Les Carrasses. Lots of love and style has breathed new life into this 19th-century wine domain. We only had a lovely lunch here, but you can also have a great holiday on the estate. Including fantastic views over the region.
Colours
Chéri and I have had dinner at Château Les Carrasses numerous times, as it is open year round. But my favourite time to visit must be spring when the surrounding countryside bursts with colours in every shade. Sitting on the spacious and sophisticated terrace, we started with our first course: rabbit, fennel and radish for Chéri and a green gazpacho with cucumber, courgette and oysters for myself. A stylish and light start to the meal.

Les Carrasses wine
Our delightful luncheon continued with pork ribs, cooked for 15 (!) hours and served with a caviar of eggplant for Chéri, which unfortunately I didn’t photograph as I was too busy taking a picture of my meal… My simple yet tasty pasta was very photogenic, thanks to the chorizo garnish and these giant prawns. Needless to say, we had a glass of very local wine to accompany the whole: a beautiful Chardonnay from Les Carrasses itself.

Joy
The menu of the week is 25 euros per person and includes a dessert. Both of us had the same plate of mini pancakes, served with thick cream and macerated strawberries. O joy! So many reasons to come back to this fantastic place, where they manage to combine excellent service and luxury in a laid back and friendly atmosphere.
