CQFD in Béziers serves the best homemade lunch

CQFD Béziers

Many new restaurants, coffee bars and shops are popping up in buzzing Béziers. I really should go to this rough diamond of the South more often. Things are happening here! When exploring the new square in front of the town hall, I discovered this wonderful coffee shop that serves excellent food: CQFD. It happened to be noon, perfect time to take a closer look.

Lunch dishes

First of all, the name intrigued me. CQFD stands for “Ce Qui Faut Dévorer” and means “What You Must Devour”. That’s a question you can ask the welcoming hosts and owners Audrey and Sébastien. The interior is modern, bright and colourful. But of course, you can also sit on the terrace outside and watch the world go by. They have a large choice of typical lunch dishes like salads, quiches, wraps and bagels. All prepared with love and fresh ingredients. I opted for the “Formula Repas” at 12 euros, including a hot main dish, a dessert and a drink.

Divine cheesecake

I made a good choice! The hot main course was a delicious fillet of dorado with mushrooms, pesto of green herbs and homemade mashed potatoes. Served with a glass of local white wine. Oh joy! For dessert, I had to go to the counter to make my choice. Chocolate cake, pannacotta with mango coulis and cookies all vied for my attention, but my eye fell on a beautiful raspberry cheesecake. Which tasted absolutely divine. No need to say that this cake was homemade as well. Utterly pleased, I left the restaurant with a new address to add to my list!
